Elizabeth E II Coral Sea Charter Company Fishing on the Elizabeth E II has been hot this year and we have just returned from another successful 3 day charter out about 8hrs east of Mackay. We landed a good catch of all reef species. The Spanish mackerel were quiet this trip but we got a good haul of Red Emperor up to 9kgs and Red Throat Emperor were prolific. We landed a reasonable catch of coral trout with the largest 4.5kgs and also a good amount of Nannygai from 4 – 6kgs. Some large cod were also caught and successfully released back to the reef. The weather was good and we enjoyed lunch on the way home at Penrith Island with a couple of whales frolicking nearby. Jul 14
Elizabeth E II Coral Sea Charter Company Fishing Report - headed out to the northern end of the Swains Group. Wind 10-15kts for first 2 days, increasing to 15-20kts for remainder of trip. Recorded biggest catch of coral trout for the season (starting at 51cms up to 65cms), also 14 spanish mackeral (largest 23.5kgs, avg 16kgs)mostly caught on live bait. Some quality Red Throat Emperor were also landed ranging from 45cms - 58cms. Jul 07
